This is my attempt in response to Friday Writings #217: Your Message to the World
We are mere travellers here,
drifting wherever life takes us.
No one will ever earn here
the right to dictate others’ paths.
We barely see the path here
clearly beyond the next bend.
Still, for fellow travelers here
I share my guiding North Star.
People spend their lives here
just fighting their own storms.
True, we cannot always help here,
never unleash our demons on them

I think this an excellent message, excellently expressed! Blessings on you, and may you receive from others the forbearance which you yourself so wisely embody.
ReplyDeleteGreat poem and great wisdom I enjoyed reading it!
ReplyDeleteThere is wisdom in your words and a sense of ethics this world could use more of. Thank you for sharing your thoughts in an elegant way.
ReplyDeleteFine work indeed. Thanks
ReplyDeleteStrong message
ReplyDeleteA whole lot of politicians should read this and follow its ethical message. Ethics has become a foreign concept to them, a dirty word almost.
ReplyDeletePoor ethics were easier to hide in the past! Not sure that there are many poetry readers among western politicians.
DeleteWhat a beautiful and thoughtful piece. 🌟 I love the humility in the idea that we’re all just travelers finding our way, without the right to control another’s path. The image of only seeing the road to the next bend feels so true to life, and the gesture of sharing your guiding North Star with others is both generous and inspiring. Such calm wisdom in a few lines—really lovely writing. ✨
ReplyDeleteA wise message.
ReplyDeletePeople fighing their own storms. Indeed. And we never know what they are. But still we judge.
